README
HUD Info
Installation
- Place the file
WarriorHUD-1.5.1.pk3
into your Tremulous base directory (when using Windows it is usually
C:\Program Files\Tremulous\base);
- You can configure the HUD by using the "Hud Options" menu on the main
Tremulous screen. Alternatively, you can do one of the following:
- To use my HUD with crosshair for humans and all aliens classes (complete
crosshair), type in your game console:
/exec ui/warriorHud.cfg
- To use my HUD with crosshair for humans only, type in your game console:
/exec ui/warriorHudHumanCross.cfg
- To use my HUD with the default Tremulous 1.1.0 crosshair settings
(crosshair for humans and for some alien classes only), type in your game console:
/exec ui/warriorHudDefCross.cfg
- To use my HUD with no crosshair for any team, type in your
game console:
/exec ui/warriorHudNoCross.cfg
- Note that you can type the above commands at any time during a game to
change the crosshair's behavior instantly.
- You can enable or disable the Team Overlay through the "Hud Options" menu.
Alternatively:
- To enable, type: /cg_drawTeamOverlay 1
- To disable, type: /cg_drawTeamOverlay 0
Installation Troubleshooting
If you get an error similar to this, when joining a server or starting Tremulous:
menu file not found: ui/warrior.cfg. using default
Extract the file WarriorHUD-1.5.1.pk3 to your base folder (the same
folder it should be actually). Try entering the server or starting Tremulous again after that.
Remember: .pk3 files are .zip files with
other extension; therefore, you can extract it using any ZIP extractor.
Uninstallation
To revert the changes made by my HUD and to use your previous HUD, you have two options:
- On the main Tremulous screen, select "Hud Options" and then "Uninstall Hud".
Answer "YES" to start the removal. Your screen will hang for a brief moment, but
will come back with your previous HUD restored.
- Alternatively, you can type in your game console:
/exec ui/warriorHudUndo.cfg

Changelog
Version 1.5.1 (August-27-2008)
- Redesigned the "Server Info" dialog using new colors. It now should be
able to fully display the values of the server variables (and player names)
without cutting them;
- Credits icon ($) for humans no more depends on an image, thus it now works on all servers (pure and unpure)
[Thanks Volt for the idea];
- Changed the text on the footer of the main screen;
- Fixed the Servers List screen being closed if the user clicked in the margins (last pixels) of the
screen boundaries.
Version 1.5.0 (December-31-2007)
- Created a "Hud Options" menu to change the HUD's settings. It can be accessed
through the main Tremulous screen.
It contains:
- A tab with an explanation about the HUD;
- The option to toggle between different displays of the Crosshair;
- An option to enable/disable the new Team Overlay;
- An option to enable/disable the Lag Meter (it is faulting on the official
menus);
- A button to run the uninstaller, with a confirmation dialog.
You can close the menu by pressing Esc, by clicking out of it or by clicking the
OK button.
[The idea of creating a configuration menu come from K-otic's HUD]
- Created a Team Overlay (a small Scoreboard that is displayed without the need
of pressing Tab);
- Changed the background of the "Connecting to" and of the Server List screens;
- Fix to the uninstaller file (warriorHudUndo.cfg) that will now revert
to the previous HUD set, instead of the default Tremulous HUD. Useful if the user
was using a different HUD before installing my one;
- Some small improvements to the Loading screen;
- Moved the installation files to the ui folder;
- Readme updated.
Version 1.4.4 (November-13-2007)
- Added the Stage information centered in the bottom of the screen;
- Changed the color of the item selection mark in the Inventory;
- Text shadow for the pop-up text displaying the name of the selected Inventory
item.
Version 1.4.3 (November-07-2007)
- Implemented the trick to hide the scrollbars from the Scoreboard;
- Scoreboard can now show nicks with up to 32 characters. Previously, it was limited
to 24 and I guess Tremulous limit nicks to 31 characters, anyway.
Version 1.4.2 (July-06-2007)
- Fixed: there was a reference to a missing script in the server list screen since
I added the fix for the "Ping" column;
- New: Human health points will change color according to these intervals: 100-75
= green, 74-25 = yellow, 24-0 = red;
- Changed the build timer color;
- Small details improved.
Version 1.4.1 (June-13-2007)
- Created a temporary solution to the problem where the "$" symbol was not shown
on pure servers, now it shows the old symbol on those servers;
- Almost imperceptible improvement to the Loading Screen.
Version 1.4 (June-12-2007)
- Major rework in the Loading Screen: map screenshot is now displayed in fullscreen
size, changed transparencies/colors and resized items;
- Added the "Options" button to the Main Menu - TinMan's suggestion;
- Included the fix for the "Ping" column sorting bug;
- Option to set crosshair for humans only;
- Fixed: in v1.3, the warriorHudDefCross.cfg was setting the crosshair only
for the humans.
Version 1.3 (June-11-2007)
- Thanks Paradox for the tip.
- Players can now choose between three behaviors for the crosshair:
- Crosshair for all aliens and for humans (recommended);
- Default Tremulous 1.1.0 (crosshair for humans and for some alien
classes only);
- No Crosshair at all (disable crosshair for both teams).
- Now, those options can be changed during games without needing to restart
Tremulous;
- Please, refer to the "Installation" section of the Readme to know
how to toggle between them.
- The previous feature allowed the remotion of two unnecessary files and some redundant
code;
- Reduced Advanced Dragoon barbs transparency a bit so they are better visualized
on bright backgrounds;
- Updated the "Installation" section of the Readme and added the "Installation
Troubleshooting" section about a frequent problem;
- Renamed "Readme.htm" to "warriorHudReadme.htm".
Version 1.2.2 (June-10-2007)
- Fixed: "The Scoreboard contents are slightly too low for the boundary boxes
on them" - Thanks, TinMan;
- Some insignificant tweaks in the near code.
Version 1.2.1 (June-09-2007)
- Improved Scoreboard transparencies a bit;
- Small increase in the spectators space;
- Renamed the file warrior_default_hud.menu to warrior_spectator_hud.menu.
Version 1.2 (June-08-2007)
- Full Inventory for Humans! It shows everything you can carry now;
- Improved Scoreboard colors a bit;
- Separated the files into two versions: 1. With crosshair for all aliens (the
recommended style) and 2. With the default Tremulous 1.1.0 alien's crosshair (only
some aliens can use crosshair);
- Changed the purple gradient color in the Loading screen to a red one.
Version 1.1 (June-07-2007)
- Changed Scoreboard colors to match team colors;
- Shadows on Scoreboard texts;
- Fixed the server motd space in the map Loading screen that was overlapping progress
bars on servers with long motd;
- Loading screen progress bars with background gradient;
- Bundled files small optimization;
- Some minor tweaks;
- Added version number to the package.
Version 1.0 (Initial Version) (June-06-2007)
- Many colors and transparency effects were changed [some color ideas were gotten
from Phreak's HUD];
- On-screen texts with shadow, what helps reading texts a lot!;
- Crosshair for all aliens;
- Advanced Dragoon's barbs position from Phreak's HUD;
- The green "cross" symbol will change its color to red when the player has 9 or
less HP [before, only the human "cross" would change to red];
- Created a new "credits" icon for humans using the money symbol ("$") instead
of the default ("C");
- Bundled files organization was improved to reduce repeated texts on different
files thus reducing the package size [idea from Wolfwings].
